The session for the evening will be “Introduction to SharePoint PnP (Patterns and Practices)” presented by Tom Daly, Senior Solution Architect at SoHo Dragon in NYC. SharePoint Patterns and Practices (PnP) is an open-source initiative coordinated by SharePoint engineering. This community controls SharePoint development documentation, samples, reusable controls, and other relevant open-source initiatives related to SharePoint development. If you are a SharePoint developer this is something that you absolutely must know.

In this session, we'll discuss what PnP is, how to use it, staying up to date, and how to participate. The demonstrations will cover two major areas of PnP:

1) PowerShell PnP - Scripting Commands to admin, provision, manipulate your SharePoint environment/site

2) PnP-JS - JavaScript library to communicate with SharePoint

To give everyone a bit more time to get there after work, we are pushing back the start time by 30 minutes, so pizza and sodas will be provided by our sponsor of the evening, SoHo Dragon, beginning at 5:30 PM.

The agenda is as follows:
5:30 PM – 6:00 PM: will be time dedicated to networking and dinner
6:00 PM: we will begin meeting introductions, next meetup topic announcement, and miscellaneous items
6:10 PM: the presentation will begin, followed by Q&A
